busy beaver

my weekends of late have been so fun filled! lisa, pooja, cj, jen, and i went apple picking 2 weekends ago. (lisa, pooja, cj all play on tandem) we made apple crisp and apple pie. both were delicious, and we watched usc win the football game. i felt so american. me the twinkie showed through.
(that's billy my roommate benching me. he's over 6ft tall and keeps his food on top of our kitchen cabinets so i can't get to them)

last weekend was fun too. friday was our white coat ceremony. we are finally inducted into medicine. this is the start of something great. i'm psyched =) my parents made the trip up from pittsburgh to witness this occasion, which is for them anyway. it was neat to see all my classmates don their white coats together. a sea of white. wish i got a picture of it. my camera died though. so only a couple pics came through. i stayed with my uncle in new jersey that night and he took us all to this japanese super market with an awesome food court. soooo good!
regionals was this past weekend too. fall in new england is crazy. crazy beautiful. i love driving east during sunset, looking in the rear view mirror and seeing the reds and oranges and purples blaze across the sky. it reminds me of driving home from devens after all those tournaments. i made it to boston in 3 hours. not too shabby. the drive was beautiful as well with all the leaves in the midst of changing color. fall is the best season of the year, hands down. then i had dinner with keith and dorphne at montien followed by christina's ice cream. i miss good ice cream. i tried banana cinnamon, which is much much better than it sounds. we randomly saw taylor at montien too. weird. sunday night i had more ice cream with nancy! yum.

ultimate was alright. tandem won all their games saturday, so we were in the finals on sunday morning. and then we sucked. the downside to having colin mahoney on your team is that all you do is huck it. even when it's wet and rainy. even when it fails no less than 1 billion times. even when the women have no trouble getting open underneath. bah. it is frustrating. after deciding not to give slow white a game, we pulled it together and beat bashing pinatas to make it to nationals. ralph (from wellesley playing on bashing) has scary blue eyes. as i was playing D on her, she kept looking at me. sucking me into the depths of blue. who looks at their D?? aren't you supposed to be making cuts?? actually, both slow white and bashing pinatas have a strange abundance of blue eyes. anyways, i'm glad we made it to nationals. =) i like sarasota beaches.

in other news - 1 of my roommates completely dislocated his ankle tossing a football around 2 days before the white coat ceremony. he was in a full leg cast for the ceremony. then another one of my roommates broke his finger during our flag football game monday. he's getting pins put into his hand next week... football is dangerous.

next weekend - medWAR.
