ever wonder what your heart looks like? a woman had a heart transplant then donated her old organ to a museum. so now everyone gets to look at it, including her. i've always wanted to take a peak at my innards. what kinda weird abnormalities do i have? maybe i'm normal like the text book. it'd definitely be a motivation to eat right or not smoke. we had the most juicy, putrid, ripe, downright gross anatomy lab today. ugh. first we had to move the gluts aside, which means flipping our cadaver over, letting all the juice accumulating in the body slosh onto the table. then we went digging through inches and inches of thick yellow wet slimy butt fat. everyone has butt fat, but it'd be nice to have an enormous amount of slimy butt fat when i'm old.

b/c we're such good friends, you can have my butt fat, you know, since you're doomed to have buns of steel.
This might be my favorite ATong post of all time. I think I want more anatomy stories.
one table had this huge lumpy boulder like thing sitting on their table next to their body. it was the person's liver!! huge! it was bigger than a basketball and weighed 15lbs. it sucked for that group cause the intensely large liver pretty much squashed all the other organs in the abdomen. so much for learning. the lesson of the day was don't be an alcoholic. (it was most likely cirrhosis or cancer)
and yes, i've been poking at everything. the skin really makes the fat less squishy.
How big was the person for that liver to fit inside his body???????? And do they know how that person died?
the person was average american sized, which made it even more incredible. it took up the entire mid section of the person. they found tumors elsewhere in the body, so the person probably died from cancer.
