dc in a nutshell

well, here i am, five days left before the rest of my life begins. this past year has been a roller coaster with the good times mixed in with the bad and with the awkward.

Substituting IM football for ultimate. Not quite the same, but still fun nonetheless. i learned that sometimes there are consequences to falling. and perhaps i should be careful. the most painful experience in my life was the car ride home from the hospital after breaking my clavicle. every bump in the road elicited sharp pain that didn't subside fast enough before the next bump in the road hit with increased intensity.

blue motorcycles are deadly. especially in alcohol form. they take all the pain and inhibitions away. i guess, maybe it's not so bad =P i met the mini version of lex luther and had a good time with him at the club. if only i could have remembered my number. i'm sorry to the random person in pittsburgh who had to receive calls from little lex luther. and almost giving him my mother's number is a bit frightening in retrospect.

studying at IHOP on a saturday night with the after bar crowd makes for interesting conversations about kidneys. did you know pancakes have an amazing amount of salt in them?? and i make better chocolate chip pancakes than ihop.

my amazing roommates introduced me to wonderful trash tv. brainless tv about hugh heffner's girlfriends and britney spears and paris hilton and models and movie stars. it's nice to come home after trying to memorize the bumps in the brain and watch how great other people's lives are.

it's not half bad being a boy.

thank god for climbing and a climbing buddy. without them, i'd be mormon friendless and probably crazy. it really was the happiest time this year. when everything else sucked, there was climbing. thanks for being there.

and then there was the happy day. the day i received my acceptance email. what a wonderful sigh of relief. i couldn't stop smiling all day! and experiencing the excitement of being able to start working towards what i've always wanted to become.

i think i lived life this year without regrets. at least i don't have any right now. but that could just be because i finally know where i'm going and happy with it. i have a clean slate, and i'm psyched to start chalking it up.
