boy? girl?
so after i cut my hair, i've been mistaken for a boy many times. in fact, i've just come to assume that everyone i don't know thinks i'm a 15 year old boy. it makes things a bit easier. the worst is going to the bathroom. i was stopped by a custodial worker one time.
"excuse me, that's the women's restroom. yours is around the corner"
"i'm a girl"
"what? your wife is in there?"
"nevermind."
then there are the multitudes of 'sirs'. and the video rental store:
"can i apply for a video rental card?"
"sure.....how old are you?"
"23."
"oh, you look like you're 16."
then looking at my ID and thinking..oh! you're a girl! "you cut your hair! you looked so much better with long hair."
and today at subway:
"is there anything i can get for you ma'am.... oh, sorry. sir?"

i had the same problem when i first cut my hair, but then i got used to it. next time someone mistakes you for a boy you should point at your cheekbones and say, "do these look like a boy's cheekbones?!" (i've always wanted to do that, but i can't because i have no cheekbones) or better yet, flash them. or you could start walking more like a girl. i really think it's your walk. btw, have you gotten your stick yet?
