first day of school

as i sat in my room trying to decide whether to wear the pink skirt or the blue skirt on the first day of school, i thought about all the other first days of school i had in the past. i actually don't remember any of them. too bad. i then promptly fell asleep w/o getting ready for bed and with the lights on. bah. i hate that. but i was refreshed and raring to go the next morning. didn't even have to set an alarm. this is the way it's supposed to be.

classes are ok. lots of powerpoint lectures with green laser pointers. i think they are unnecessarily powerful, and someone will lose an eye. i try not to look at it when the prof is waving it around. what's wrong with red anyway?

at georgetown, they pay people to take notes in classes, and then you can just buy the note sets. no need to take notes in classes. hooray. on another note, printing is expensive. they charge 0.1 dollars per page! always looking to make money. i feel like i pay them enough already.

food excursions:
i was recommended to a bbq place named Red Hot and Blue. it is good. comparable to red bones. mmm... except they have a smaller sides menu, but with all the standard southern stuff. no corn pudding.. and you know you're in the south when they serve sweet tea!
there is also a asian fusion restaurant nearby, Cafe Asia, which seems decent. they have happy hour sushi (and sake) specials.

to counter all this food i joined the climbing wall gym. i miss the free mit gym. the gym is a bit smaller than metrorock, but has more bouldering problems that are at my level. it's a bit far on the metro, but that just gives me more time to study and listen to the podcasted lectures.
