DC

i arrived in dc yesterday! well technically virginia. and i unpacked and set my room up. the room is much larger than my old room and has high ceilings and large windows. and... a bed! oh and there's also a sink area with a tinted mirror and tinted glass shelves. looks like a bar type thing. i need one of those trays with an ice bucket, nice glasses, and a decanter filled with scotch? brandy? some brownish alcohol. i have lots of wall space to do stuff with. i think big enough for another wall-o-discs plus the terrible towel plus big ben. unfortunately, i alone cannot supply all the frisbees needed =(.

my roommate has a huge dvd collection maybe 6 times the size of mine. and he said he had already sold 100 dvds. crazy. he's also 30. but looks like he's 20. yay for asianess. the other 2 roommates are both indian girls. we all ventured out to find some dinner last night. our first stop was cheesecake factory. the wait was only 15min despite it being saturday night. i was very impressed. after 10 min of waiting, the restaurant began filling up with smoke. mm..bad news. the exhaust fans in the kitchen decided to stop working. at least there was no real fire. they closed the kitchen and said they'd only be serving salads and cheesecake. we decided to try our luck at another nearby restaurant. we ended up at a tapas place, sat down, ordered a pitcher of apple sangria, took a sip or two. it was pretty amazing. then the fire alarms went off. and the waitress told us to leave. no more sangria =( it seemed like we were unlucky. but mainly just unobservant as the cheesecake factory was in the same building as the tapas restaurant. we finally found dinner at an italian place far away. hooray

dinner tonight at another tapas restaurant with some high school friends.
