doctor's visit
i recently went to see another primary care physician, and to my surprise, this person seemed much happier about her job than the last one i saw. we didn't actually talk about what it is like to be a doctor, but her patience to explain things and to listen to what i had to say spread a sense of calm in me. this is what a pcp should be like. i wonder what she would have said if i asked her if she liked being a doctor.
before i saw the doctor, a resident came to check up on me. afterall, it was just a follow up for a collar bone. he admitted that he didn't know too much about collar bones, but it's not his field. he did know the stats about how common it was to break. he kept running in and out of the room. i guess that's when they go ask or look up what to do next. he didn't inspire a lot of confidence in me, but he's new at the job and the doctors must practice somehow.
the appointment turned out to be super beneficial. i got a whole bunch of tests done, a flu shot, and a referrel to see an orthopedist! what a good deal.
