once a pon a time

i've never been really into finding new music, but a couple things happened: i met cj. he likes music. and has introduced me to some great stuff, although i don't always agree w/ his taste. i also realized i have been listening to the same music since high school. or about the time when people started cracking down on napster. go figure. and finally, listening to the right music makes me so happy! i end up adding an extra skip in my step. maybe looking a little awkward at times.. anyway, i have found a band who makes me skip. all the time! i wanted to share my happiness. the band is called vampire weekend. they just released a self titled album a week ago. they spent some time in africa and picked up some drumming influences from there, which adds a neat aspect to the music. here is their myspace page. maybe they'll make you as happy as they are making me at the moment.
