weekly puzzle

"Do you always believe what you see?" asked Snorkel, taking four cards from a regular pack of playing cards and discarding the rest. "What do you mean?" replied Twanger. Snorkel showed Twanger his four cards : an ace, a three, a ten and a jack. After secretly arranging them in a certain order, he dealt them face down in a line on the table. "I've seen this trick before!" cried Twanger. "You want me to tell you where the jack is." "The jack!" exclaimed Snorkel. "There are two jacks in these four cards." How is it possible and where are they in the four face-down cards?

does the answer involve slight of hand on snorkel's part?

i think i got it. but it doesn't make sense in that... truly, the cards snorkel showed doesn't have 2 jacks. only one.

it's an alphabet thing right? Ace can be 1. 3 is 3. J is 11, and 10 is 10. alaphabet, 10 = "J" and 11= "K" and 3="C" and 1="A". J-A-C-K. first card is a Jack. the 2nd 'jack' is the 11, or K. but seriously, there's only ONE JACK CARD. right? doesn't make sense. i'd punch snorkel in the face for that.
