nightmare on M st

georgetown is the hub of halloween in the dc area. and boy, it was hoppin. they put barricades up so people wouldn't fall into the streets. tons and tons of cops were there to manage the rowdy bunch. it must suck to work that shift. i was surprised to see so many foreign people. hords of chinese people and european people (didn't recognize the language). most of them were video taping and taking pictures of the crazy americans and what they do for fun.

i heard it was really wild on halloween, so i was originally not going to go, but a high school friend who i hadn't seen in a while was heading there. i ventured down M street early enough to beat the mob and stayed in the same bar until it got really crowded outside. some of the costumes were pretty neat. there was a predator from the movie. very life like. and some cleverish ones like Senator Foley. the guy wore a trenchcoat over what looked to be like a nice shirt, tie, and slacks. but underneath the coat, the clothes were cut which left him bare stomached and bare thighed. luckily he had some underwear on. there were lots of priests (i'm not sure why? easy to dress?) lots of cowboys, beer pong balls, boxed wine, a couple borats and lots of nearly naked men and women. i saw a spiderman! but he had no hood. and defn not as defined. but he was running down the street! in action! maybe he was looking for his hood. i dressed as myself. i figured it was better not to costume than to costume half assed. turned out to be an interesting night. the profs even planned ahead and had no morning classes to let people recover =)
