blahh

the rest of last weekend involved a lot of football. i like fall =) first, we had our first IM flag football game. no more fooling around kids. this is the real deal. we had a qb who played football in college, and 4 pretty athletic women. it was coed football w/ special rules on plays that forced teams to include women. AND they had real refs. 3 of them! with whistles and uniforms! we were up against a bunch of young college kids. we killed them. they had to stop the game early cause there was some rule about running up the score too high. the best part was when the other team was on offense and as the qb was directing the people on his team where to line up, the center snapped the ball right sqare in the middle of the qb's forehead. everyone tried to hide their laughs, but it was impossible. i must say though, it was a damn good snap.

steelers bengals game was next. oh the disappointment. they were playing so well...stifling the bengals' offense. then our punt receiver dropped the punt and bengals recovered it! ack! all down hill from there...i was at rsi's and she and another friend were making linoleum block prints while i made random emotional outbursts. mark made sure to make fun of me =P sigh. not the best start for black and gold.

and TO attempting suicide?? weird. apparently there are no laws against that in texas.

i didn't do as well as i hoped on the final. but i guess it was on par with how i thought i would do. sigh. there's still the whole year ahead of me. and the class is not worth very many credits. it is the first grade schools see though. put a damper on things. to me, this year is analogous to a close game at nationals. sometimes during those games i would wonder what was going to happen. but after a split second, i would be into the game again, thinking about the right things. with ultimate, it was easy for me to focus. i could just play. there was no time to think so much about useless things, and as a result, i could rely on everything that was practiced. just need to focus more i suppose. find out how i learn the best. this is the time to do it.

i've been missing boston lately (or what boston used to be as lily stated in her blog). so i called my buddy who i worked out with and got a chance to catch w/ her and a couple of her roomates who also worked out with us. made my day. here are a couple pictures that i took before i left.

and just in time, i had dinner with nurit and her college fried anouk. =) it was a good change of pace, and nice to hear about boston things. and nurit surprised me with an origami box! heh. i found a practical use for it with the new paper clips i bought.

and here's the iraqi embassy. notice the tree branch sticking out the window and the tree it used to be a part of. weird that they didn't just get rid of the branch...

oh, and congrats to smite for getting into purple valley =)
