nanogenerator

in our course 3 project class, one group worked on a piezoelectric charger that's supposed to convert mechanical energy to electrical energy by bending a special polymer sheet back and forth. this could be used as a portable generator which converts wind/water power into electricity. i came across a device which does the same thing, but on a much smaller scale. essentially, you can use blood flow or other small mechanical movements to power this generator which in turn can power other sensors or devices placed in the body. i'm not sure how pacemakers are powered, but it would suck if it ran out of batteries =P. neat!
